Host Valerie Szarek and featured poet Amy Wray Irish present an open mic that descends into the darkest night of the year and re-emerges into the light.

Valerie A. Szarek is an award winning poet, artist,  performer and Shamanic Practitioner/Healer.  She’s a 2-time CAL awards finalist, an EVVY award winner, and a National Poetry Federation 1st place award winner, and was just named the Denver Open Media / Blissfest Poet of the Year 2018-2019. She plays Native American Flute, is the artist and owner of Breezy Mountain Leather, and teaches writing workshops at her home in Louisville, Colorado.

Amy Wray is the author of recently released book ‘The Nature of the Mother’  has been called “a priestess of image and word” who “casts a spell” in her work.
